Story + hands-on plant/nature activity
Bi-weekly program for early elementary aged children exploring plants with hands-on gardening skills and botany information. Each session will consist of a read-aloud/storytime related to the session theme and have a learning component with hands-on activity or experiment structured around the theme or plant type thereafter. Kids may learn how to layer soil for outdoor gardens, about germinating seeds, or explore edible plants! Weather and safety permitting, sessions will aim to be conducted outdoors to emphasize use of natural environments. In cases of rain, program will take place in the storytime room.
Registration is recommended, though walk-ins are welcome as long as supplies are available. Please check in at the youth desk before heading to the program location.
