Plant care isn’t only for spring- fall garden preparation is vital to having growing season success in spring!
Participants will learn about soil, plants, & cultivation through botany activities and guided hands-on gardening skill lessons. This season will focus on preparing the inaugural Library Learning Garden! Each session will consist of a story read aloud, nature lesson, experimental observations, and hands-on skills practice. Each monthly session will focus on a key step in creating a raised bed sustainable garden emphasizing comprehensive progress through the season.
Weather permitting, sessions will occur in the youth area outdoor reading patio. In case of poor weather, sessions will take place in south entrance lobby.
Designed for children ages 5-9, though families are welcome.
Tickets
- Registration is not required, but please stop by the Children's Desk for a ticket for going into the program.
- Supplies are limited to the first 25 participants to arrive.
- Caregivers with children under age 10 should stay with their child for the duration of the program.

About the branch
First built on its current site in 2000, the Flower Mound Public Library completed a renovation in 2020. This 40,000 square foot facility includes a quiet reading area, seven study rooms, outdoor patios in the Adult and Children’s areas, and a Creation Lab.
