Join us for an Adult Spelling Bee with your team of 2-6 spellers for 6 rounds of friendly competition.
Join us for an Adult Spelling Bee competition where participants are able to join in as teams of 2-6 spellers through 6 spelling rounds to test their skills. The first two rounds are team collaborative, where teams have 60 seconds to write their spelling guess on white boards to acquire points that will determine if the team can proceed to the next rounds. Then the remaining teams chose their best spellers to compete head-to-head by spelling their unique words individually aloud. The concluding rounds are collaborative, featuring more challenging and obscure words that must be spelled aloud. Words will continue to be given until only one team remains. The final team will win a special prize and a chance to compete at the 2025 North Texas Libraries Regional Spelling Bee.
General Rules:
-No smart phones or other aids allowed.
-No appealing to audience members for help.
-Any team caught using illegal aids or soliciting outside help in any way will be disqualified.
-Excluding the lightning round, players may at any time ask for a word’s part of speech, language of origin, definition, and/or an example sentence.
Registration is required. One representative of each team should register for the whole team. Individual participants may register and be placed into a team at the beginning of the program. Audience seating is limited.
